What Do You Have to Offer?

I am a believer in trade.  If I had my way, the world would do without dollars and cents.  We would all contribute to the greater good and we would all be provided for on account of our labour.  I am sure I won't have my way, not in this lifetime, but I still attempt to eliminate the need for dollars changing hands as much as possible.  In my own way, I reduce my need for dollars.  I like to grow my own food - I garden, raise chickens (meat & eggs) & beef, and I milk a cow, making cheese and butter when the season is right.  I try to provide for myself the essentials and am constantly working toward my ultimate goal of self-sufficiency.  I keep horses, because I love horses.  I train horses, because I love to educate, and I feel I am contributing to the greater good of each horse's life by providing them with a good, sound education that might keep them out of the glue plant.  I spend time with horses because it is therapeutic, it feels good, and it makes me happy.  I have a great wealth here, whether or not the cup runneth over in terms of bank balances.  I want to share that wealth.

I did not grow up with the means to buy my way through the world and I had to work for what I wanted every step of the way.  Whether you are someone who has little and wants to spend time with horses, or you are someone who likes to garden and has surplus vegetables but a shortage of eggs, drop me a line.  I would love to trade labour for lessons, food for farrier work, you get the picture.  Life is not all about money.  Let's build community, share skills & get to know each other.  What do you have to offer?  Maybe we can work something out.
