Time to Spread My Wings

I have very much enjoyed the community here in Vanscoy, and am sad to leave a place so well set up for my livelihood, but the world is calling.  It is with some regret and some excitement and anticipation of things to come that I am offering my 40 acres of horse property 30 minutes from downtown Saskatoon for sale.  I have spent the last 4 years here working towards setting up a yard that can support the life on it without much input from elsewhere - I have moved in a chicken coop and grainery, added a storage shed in which I keep my freezers - well ventilated and on the north side of the trailer for maximum shading, minimum power consumption, I have improved on the fences to make them suitable for keeping calves in place, I have modified the barn to accommodate a milk cow, I have cut  a small garden plot, I have planted a row of lilacs along the north west side of the yard to provide wind protection and evening shade.  As long as I reside here, I will continue to make improvements on the yard and trailer, and perhaps move on to a house, but my hope is that my time here is not so much longer.  I have been married to livestock my entire life and it is time to spread my wings and see how the rest of the world lives.  Thank you for taking the time to have a look around, on this page I will display my world here to the best of my ability.  I will be adding photos often until I have the whole place represented, as time allows.  Please feel free to contact me with any questions or if you would like to come and have a look around in real time.

The Barn Yard

The  barn yard features a row of 3 corrals down the south side, each 16x48' with 8' steel gates.  The corrals are constructed of 2x6" planking and 5-6" posts, spaced at 8'.  Two of the three have 8x8' shelters, one has water bowl access, the other two should be getting a water bowl between them very soon.  All three corrals open into a common barn area.  There is a fourth corral on the west end of the barn which also opens into the common area.
